064: Consistency in content creation

When it comes to creating content online, consistency is the key to building a reputation and an audience. In this episode we discuss how we stay consistent with our content creation and share advice for how to overcome some common struggles.

key takeaways

Consistency helps you to build not only an audience, but a good reputation. It shows you to be reliable and helps build trust, which leads to stronger connections with the people who read/view/listen to your content.

The only way to keep up consistency long term is to make content creation a part of your life, and a part of your day. Do this by breaking the creation process down into the smallest possible step and set a regular schedule for fitting these tasks in.

It’s really hard to find motivation to stick with something if you don’t enjoy it. You have to find ways to enjoy the process of creating, and ways to make it easier for you.

Perfectionism has no place in consistency. It will only hold you back. Embrace the constraints that come with producing on a  regular schedule and don’t be afraid to show your work along the way, even if it isn’t finished!

If you’re struggling for ideas, ask your audience! Ask them what they’re struggling with and think of ways you could help. Remember to there are a lot of things you do that may be obvious or second nature to you, but they won’t be to everyone else. Show your process and share little tips and tricks you have for getting things done faster.
